Father catches it using telekinetic powers with a single finger raised. He studies the cushion & thinks "This is...Soft black fabric. Twin innocent bands of eyes. Curious little T shaped nose. Gatto Nero's mascot." He rubs the fabric. "In a flattened, severed head form. But it radiates warmth. Carefully constructed. It's..." He tucks the cushion under his chin as he concludes in his thoughts: "A handmade cushion?" with the dotted "i" of "cushion" as a heart. He squishes the cushion as he asks Joshua. "So, Joshua, what's the occasion? New room decor? Shibuya preservation?" Joshua frowns and grips his phone at the words "Shibuya preservation." Then he smiles and snaps a picture of Father with the cushion and says "To fuel you cat addiction". A chibi Father stretches the cushion and then says, "Joshua, listen VERY carefully" as he lectures Joshua. Joshua responds with "Of course, Father."Notes
Father is simply impressed with Gatto Nero’s use of a cat shaped icon to gain popularity in the lower planes. That’s all.

Timeline wise, I’m thinking this takes place between TWEWY and NEO. Maybe shortly after NEO, before the Health Dose of Chaos AU kicks in. Location wise…If it’s not specified it’s probably in the HP, and they drawn with “lines and colour” because…I feel like it. We have no idea what Angels will look like in the HP so I’ll switch between styles depending on what I want to do.
(I suppose you could say it’s our perception of them that changes but let’s not go down that path right now.)
“Spoilers” I guess for the background of this cause the reveal of the cushion’s source for the eventual follow up is…forever away. And I’ve brought it up on stream before, so I’ll share it here. Joshua contacted Shiki to get the cushion hand made, so Father can sense this cushion is constructed a bit differently, perhaps similar to how the original Mr. Mew was compared to say, Mr. Mew dolls that would be sold at stores. Joshua did not disclose who the cushion was for, and perhaps some day down the line, she might find out.
But anyways, this is totally not a gift, just something Joshua doesn’t want back, and definitely not given on a particular day whatsoever. It will take a while for Father to realize what the cushion was for.
